Dearest Edward

Have just done up some papers to send you and Dad is going around to the post office very soon so I may only have time for a very few lines. I had to write to thank Mrs. Andrews for a letter and a little packett she sent me on my birthday. And now it is late. Dorothy got home in the train this afternoon. She was in Liverpool for ten days and had a lovely time she said. Was disappointed not to have seen you. She saw in the Liverpool Advance that you were in Port Medway for a week end but I told her it was before she went to Liverpool.

We were going down to Mrs. Nicholls tonight but it got very foggy and we gave it up. Dad got a chance to drive down to where the car was stuck this a.m. but he could not get it to go and had to get Ward Millet to go down, and he towed the car up. A few moments after he got to the garage he got the car going. It was a little wire leading to the coil was broken or something.

Wish you were going to be home for your birthday, Monday. If letters go to you the same day we can wait until the next letter to our birthday wishes. The Campfire girls made a hundred and ten dollars at their Garden Party last night. I did not go as it was late when I got home from Chester anyway.

If I send you a cake I wonder if Mon. morning would be in time as I am afraid I won't get it off for tomorrow a.m. How funny Reko must be. It must be quite an interesting experience in some ways, but not in others, for you have to work too hard for your strength.

On my birthday Mrs. Reg. Hyson sent me a box of delicious ice cream and a picture of Erbert illegible (taken on the 1st of July) wishing me many happy returns of the day.

That old Mrs Hughes in Sweetland died last night and is to be buried tomorrow. "Crammie Prum" old Mrs Bruhm is dead too. The new S.S. library came and is splendid.

Must stop.
